Painting or making art in any form prophetically should hold the same  standard set forth in 1 Corinthians 14:3…

“But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men." [NKJV]

Anything that is truly prophetic will bear witness to Jesus , align with scripture and remind  the viewer of His presence. Freedom is necessary for creativity to thrive but freedom must operate within a frame work of mutual vision to allow  freedom for everyone.

In this context we should know our viewership/audience  

1. first The Lord

2. Next is His children

3. (unsaved) image bearers .

As son’s  and daughter’s of God we have tremendous freedom, but that freedom comes with responsibility to consider the spiritual profitability of what is put before the viewer. We should seek freedom for all not just the artist. Creations  made during  times of worship should be prayerfully considered, aligned with scripture, permitted by The Spirit , created and presented with a pure heart. (All glory to The Lord) Able to be viewed by young children and image sensitive people.

The testimony of Jesus is The Spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10). These art works are a testimony that holds space for The Kingdom where they are displayed. This is a way to worship Him.

The artwork must  always point to Him.

Talent level doesn’t matter but the purity, Spirit and Truth of the message does.
