Gatekeeper
“All those chosen as gatekeepers were two hundred and twelve. They were recorded by their genealogy, in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their trusted office. So they and their children were in charge of the gates of the house of the LORD, the house of the tabernacle, by assignment….. And they lodged all around the house of God because thy had the responsibility, and they were in charge of opening it every morning. 1 Chronicles 9:22-27
Minister Unto the Lord- w/ responsibility
As the one entrusted to open and guard the gates of God’s house, His tabernacle, nothing is more important than protecting the presence that abides there. As His dwelling place first, Gatekeepers understand the need to be alert and aware at all times spiritually and in the natural to communicate the needs of the watch. Gentle & loving, yet charged with the holy responsibility to guard against distractions and anything that takes eyes off of Jesus.
Divinely Assigned
“The gatekeepers were assigned to the four directions: the east, west, north and south.. And their brethren in their villages had to come with them from time to time for seven days.” I Chronicles 9: 24-25.
Hospitable
Everyone can enter in by the blood and through the torn veil…welcome them in. “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” Hebrews 13:2
